Rita Meeks

Since I was a little girl, makeup has been my passion. I was always playing with my mother’s makeup and getting caught putting lipstick and eyeshadow on my friends as early as 3rd grade. I feel very blessed to have been able to have a lifetime career in the beauty/skin and cosmetic industry! I began my career as a cosmetology student at North Stokes High in Danbury, North Carolina. Furthering my education in Charlotte, then moving back home in the late 80’s. My lifelong career as an esthetician began with Vivian Haven ( who was instrumental in getting the esthetic licensing in NC).  That was over 35 years ago.  After getting my start and working alongside industry impacting professionals, I moved back to Charlotte in 1990 where I continued my career. Working in esthetics lead me to open Simply Skin Face and Body Spa in 2003 which continues to operate today under new ownership. Working with skin and makeup has given me a lot of training to do Cosmetic Tattooing/Permanent Makeup. Knowing how the skin responds and not causing undue trauma is very important when doing cosmetic tattooing which is mainly on the face or delicate scar tissue. I received my Permanent Makeup Artistry training in Tustin, California at Permanent Color Technology in 2005. For over 18 years I have enjoyed offering my clients beautiful eyeliner, natural hair stroke brows, lip color/blushing, areola repigmentation and scar camouflage. Another very popular procedure that I offer is Collagen Induction Therapy. I was one of the first in Charlotte trained through PMU Professionals in 2008 to provide this treatment for skin rejuvenation, now better known as Micro-needling. As an extension of my love for makeup, I branded my very own cosmetic line in 2019. Working with popular makeup lines through the years, like Presciptives, Bare Essentials and Jane Iredale I became very in tune about what a great makeup line should consist of. I took my expertise and went to work testing formulations. I came out with the perfect repertoire of items for a classic, modern, sophisticated or natural look. All of Pearl Seven Cosmetics are free from parabens, harsh chemicals and synthetics. We are cruelty free and follow EU standards for no toxic ingredients. Joining Hairloom Salon and Spa, I am very excited to bring my love and knowledge for skincare and cosmetics to Stokes County were I was born and raised.
